ICSF Goes to the Newseum!

Last Saturday, ICSF leader Stephanie Eng, organized a trip to the Newseum for all members to come explore the massive museum packed with interesting exhibitions containing 5 centuries worth of news and media. ICSFers along with Professor Levinson, made their way from the the heart-wrenching Katrina exhibit; to the 100 ft long Big Screen covering the career of the President's photographer; onto the comprehensive Pulitzer Prize Photographs gallery; and even went to the 4D movie which covered the history of America's freedom of the press.

As we made made our way around the Newseum, although it was impossible to view everything in one afternoon, it was enlightening to see how journalists and news anchors have played a momental role in defining our nation's history. With the sun shining outside and the cherry blossoms beginning to bloom, it was a perfect afternoon in D.C. as communications students to see how our role will manifest into something more!

A long time ago, in an atrium far, far away...

A small group of ICSF students set up this blog that you are reading right now. Our plan is to fill it with blog posts, alumni updates, job & internship advice, events and all sorts of good things, but we're open to additional suggestions if you have any.

Let's kick things off with a haiku in honor of our fabulous new common room:

Program common room,
Still un-launched, your enormous
Flat screens call to me.

OK, clearly I'm just typing to fill up space here. Which is why we need to start filling this blog with awesome posts of general interest. I'll open up the comments section for suggestions. Let us know what you want to see....
